(July 31, 1916 ­ September 19, 2009) ‹ Passed peacefully away at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, September 19, 2009, Elsie Legge of Whiteway, aged 93 years. Predeceased by parents; Nathan and Mabel Rowe, husband, Hayward (1980), son: Hayward Jr. (2003), grandson; Derrick Chislett (1975), son-in-law; Howard Butt (2005), and brothers, Marcus, Allan and Stanley. Leaving to mourn are her seven daughters and one son; Ada (Gerald) Butt, Salmon Cove, Phyllis (Ray) Penney, Norris Arm, Patricia Butt, Goulds, Shirley (Willoughby) Chislett, Marion (Sam) Chislett, Alma (Don) Higdon, Rhoda Piercey (Scott), all from Islington, Ron (Myrtle) Legge, Goulds. She is also lovingly remembered by 26 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law, Neta Legge, brother-in-law, Joe (Martha) Legge, sisters-in-law, Esther and Marina Legge, all from Whiteway, as well as a large number of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Resting at St. Andrew\'s United Church, Whiteway on Monday, September 21, from 1 p.m. until time of funeral. The funeral service will be held from St. Andrew\'s United Church, Whiteway on Tuesday, September 22nd at 2 p.m., Interment to follow at St. Andrew\'s United Cemetery. No flowers by request.
