NEW GLASGOW – Lawrence Henry Perkins, age 87, of Norma St., New Glasgow, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Wolfville, he was a son of the late George and Naomi Gertrude (Keddy) Perkins.
He was retired from Maritime Tel and Tel after 46 years of service. He was a member of Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with family.
He is survived by his wife, Aileen (Pineau); daughters, Marlene (Eric) LeBlanc, Shediac, NB; Betty (Norman) MacKay, New Glasgow; sons: Robert (Ann), Dallas, Texas; Douglas (Jocelyn), Porter’s Lake; Gary (Jenny), Abbotsford, BC; Eric (Trudy), Mount Uniacke; Leo (Jeanette), Wellington; Kevin, Bedford; daughter-in-law, Wanda Perkins, Cambridge Station; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Joan (Frank) Carroll, Lower Sackville.
He was predeceased by son Carl, brothers, John and Gerald.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral mass 11 a.m. Friday in Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church with Father Gary MacPherson officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
