Frances McLellan, a loving father, grandfather and friend, died peacefully at Glace Bay Hospital, on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009.
Born in PEI, he moved to Cape Breton as a young man and worked locally before enlisting in the army and serving overseas in Europe during the Second World War. He was a member of RCL Branch 12. After returning, he joined Bill Lynch Shows and travelled extensively with them for 30 years. Francis always had a story ready to tell about that period of his life. He was a great lover of sports; he enjoyed a good game of cards and just enjoying the people around him. Before moving to Taigh Na Mara, he resided for several years at 135 George St., Sydney.
Francis is survived by his daughter, Diana (Leo); son, Allen; granddaughter, Anna, Port Hawkesbury; grandsons, Victor, Fred and Colin.
He was predeceased by his wife, Florence Isobel (MacKinnon) and sons, Freddie and Charles.
There will be no visitation. A funeral service will be celebrated at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
