BENNETT, May Marion “Mabel” – It is with deepest sadness we announce the passing of May “Mabel” Bennett, 87, of Berwick, Kings Co., who died on July 16th, 2011 at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Simpson’s Corner, Lunenburg Co., she was a daughter of the late William and Blanche (Zinck) Simpson. Mabel spent many happy years as a homemaker and later enjoyed singing, dancing and playing bingo with friends at her former residence, New Visions, Berwick. She always greeted visitors and family with a cheerful smile and contagious laugh. Her friendly, carefree attitude will be missed by many. She is survived by her daughter, Rose Ann (Bob) Sabean, Grafton; sons, George Jr. (Betty)Bennett, Berwick; Douglas Robishaw, Lawrencetown; brothers, Carrol Simpson and Fred Simpson, both of Hemford, Lunenburg Co.; grandchildren, George David (Kelly), Aylesford; Dorothy May (Ray), Berwick; Bobbie Mai (John), Halls Harbour; Joey (Jay-Lee), Lawrencetown; Dougie Jr. (Erika), Kingston; 7 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband George; sister Elsie; brothers, Abner, Lawrence, Miles, Guilbert, Claude, Roy, Kendall and grandsons Joshua and Shane. Visitation was from 7-9PM Monday, July 18, 2011 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 where the funeral service was held 2:00PM Tuesday, July 19, 2011, Rev.
