FILLIER, Gordon — Passed peacefully away after a courageous battle with cancer in the presence of his loving family at the Health Sciences Complex on Saturday, November 22, 2008. Gordon Fillier aged 62 years. Predeceased by his parents: Gordon and Lily; mother-in-law: Hilda Benmore; father-in-law: William Benmore and brother-in-law: Cyril Benmore. Leaving to mourn are his loving and devoted wife of 39 years: Lorraine (nee Benmore); daughters: Melanie (Terry Parsons), Lori Quinlan (Jamie) and Jennifer (Todd Parsons); grandchildren: Taylor Lynn, Katie Suzanne and Erin Ashley; sister: Violet Daniels (Gary); brothers: Hayden (Lois) and Rus (Debbie); sisters-in-law: Shirley Smith (Charlie), Dianne Benmore and Yvonne; brother-in-law: Fred Benmore (Marg); family friend: Brenda, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Resting at Broughton’s Funeral Home, Brigus on Sunday, November 23, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Visitation will resume at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Monday, November 24th and Tuesday, Nov. 25th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will take place at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church on Wednesday, Nov. 26th at 12 noon.
