John Crawford (Jack) Adam passed away with his family at his side at Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke on Friday, July 1st, 2011 at the age of 55 years.
A Memorial Service was held at the Revelstoke Community Center on Saturday morning, July 9th with Pastor Matthew Carter officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Revelstoke Community Foundation, P.O. Box 2398, Revelstoke, B.C., V0E 2S0, in memory of Jack.
Jack was born in Victoria, B.C. on May 9, 1956 and had been a resident of Revelstoke for the past 45 years. He enjoyed baseball, fishing, hunting, camping, hockey, travelling and walking his dogs. Jack's passion was classic cars and motorcycles and spending time with his ever growing family. Jack was known to be a kind-hearted, honest and hard working man. He started working at C.P.R. at the age of 15 and then went on to highways and then driving logging truck for 18 years. He worked the last few years in the construction industry as a crane operator, taking a lot of pride in his work on the new Revelstoke high school and the first condos on Revelstoke Mountain Resort.
Jack was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Patricia and sister-in-law Diane.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Kamla; four children: Jesse (Amanda) Adam, Jamie (Courtney) Adam, Kelsey Adam and Jay Adam; four grandchildren: Emalyn, Madelin, Jonah and Carter; siblings: Robert Adam of Bonnyville, Alberta, Margaret (Chris) Florczak of Surrey, Phyllis (Mike) Meharry of Moreno Valley, California and his twin brother Jerry (Shan) of Bonnyville, Alberta; parents-in-law Jaswant and Harbhajan Gill of Kamloops; brothers and sisters-in-law: Paul Gill of Burnaby, Aman (Jim) Greatbanks of Richmond, Raj (Bob) Neville of Dawson Creek and Sonny Gill of Kamloops, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
