GRANT, DONALD - The passing of Donald Grant occurred at York Manor Nursing Home, Fredericton on Friday, July 22, 2011. He was 85.
Born August 25, 1925 in Donkin, N.S., he was the son of the late William and Laura (Hall) Grant. Prior to retirement, Donald was a Public Health Inspector for the Province of Newfoundland and was a member of The United Nations Peacekeeping Veteran's Society in Sydney, N.S. Donald was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Canada, Donkin, N.S.
Donald is survived by five children, Laura Edwards of Lincoln, N.B., Donna Grant (Bob) of Fredericton, William L. Grant (Gail) of Niton, Alberta, R. Keith Grant (Maria) of London, Ontario and Jacqueline P. Grant (Chris) of Brampton, Ontario; one sister, Gwen Milley of Glace Bay, N.S.; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; his wife Jane "Jean" (Snow) Grant (2009); four brothers Leonard, Edwin, Wilfred and Lawrence; three sisters Gladys, Doris (Peg) and Patricia; grandson Chris Weese; infant son Donald Wilfred Grant and son-in-law Lloyd Edwards.
Donald's wish for no visitation or service will be respected. Interment will be held in St. Lukes United Church Cemetery, Donkin, N.S. at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton (458-1885).
