Joe LeLievre passed away Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Cheticamp, Joe grew up in Sydney and worked in Toronto, Sydney and Halifax.
He resided in Dartmouth, N.S., with his family for the past 11 years and is survived by his wife, Agnes; daughter, Rebecca, Dartmouth; son, Jonathan (Calgary); and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, John Paul, mother, Marie Cecile and father, Edward LeLievre. Joe was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Visitation will be Thursday, 7-9 p.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, Sept. 25 at 11 a.m. at St. Barra’s Church, Christmas Island, with interment to follow in St. Barra’a Cemetery.
