Grace Gillies passed away at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 95 years. She was born in Prince Albert and married Arthur Gillies in 1936. Together they dairy farmed in Russellville and Colleston and later moved to the Maiden Lake District where they continued to dairy farm until retirement. She was a member of the Prince Albert Exhibition in the Horticultural Dept. Grace was an avid housekeeper always polishing and cleaning, and there was always coffee and cookies ready when someone dropped in. At the age of 90 years, she flew to Wolleston Lake to spend Christmas with her daughter Dianne, a memory she cherished. She lived for her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, always ready to babysit. Grace is survived by her children Art (Ellen) Gillies of Fort Qu’Appelle, SK, Carole Watts of Weldon, SK and Dianne Moberly of Fond du Lac, SK; her grandchildren Jaret (Claudia) Gillies of Regina, SK, Tyler (Lisa) Gillies of Calgary, AB, Marco (Stacey) Gillies of Brooks, AB, Sharon Johnston of Weldon, SK, Brent (Robin) Acorn of Prince Albert, SK, Lana Acorn of Prince Albert, SK, Jon (Ava) Moberly of Kingston, ON and Susan (James) Scott of Las Vega, NV; her 13 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; 1 sister Olive Jung of Melfort, SK; 3 sisters-in-law Nora (Gary) Uland of BC, Lucie Gartner of Calgary, AB and Lassie Coyer of Edmonton, AB and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1984; parents George and Ella Coyer; 1 grandson Joel Gillies; sisters Catherine (Monrad) Christianson, Hazel (Bill) Soles and Lorine (Harvey) Stanley and 1 brother Jack Coyer. A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens with Pastor Dennis Serfas, Director Spiritual Care, Prince Albert Parkland Health Region officiating.
