HENDERSON – James Donald “Danâ€, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2009 at the Lutheran Care Home in Saskatoon on September 18, 2009 at the age of 100. Dan was born May 11, 1909 in Indian Head, SK. He was dearly loved and will be remembered by everyone who knew him. Predeceased by his parents John and Mary Henderson (nee: McCallum), his sister, Janetta, his wife, Martha (nee: Grolla) and his son, Marvin. He will be affectionately remembered by his son, John Henderson, Prince Albert; daughter-in-law, Lucille Henderson, Saskatoon; grandchildren, Jim Henderson (Kathy Arnie) and Susan (Wade) Hamilton, Saskatoon; Janelle (Jarod) Bellegarde; great-grandchildren, Josie and Rhodes Bellegarde, Regina; sister-in-law Peggy Grolla; Prince Albert, his nieces and nephews, Ken (Vera) LeDrew of Prince Albert, Adrien Jantzen of Saskatoon, Sharon (Mel) Curniski of Prince Albert, Wayne (Val) Grolla of Prince Albert, Noreen (Del) Davies of Saskatoon, Geraldine (Doug) Lee of Saskatoon, Harold LeDrew of Edmonton, AB, Jack (Muriel) Von-Oder of North Battleford, Keith Von-Oder of Grand Prairie, AB, John (Louise) Revitt of Prince Albert, Milton (Pam) Grolla of Saskatoon, and Gordon Grolla of Quesnel, BC, his great nieces and nephews Cassandra LeRand of Perdue, SK, Tim (Martha) LeDrew of Richmond, BC, Greg (Gerri) Curniski of Longview, WA, Judy (Jim) Jackson of Prince Albert, SK. Dan lived in Prince Albert before moving to Saskatoon in 1999, where he became a resident at the Franklin and LutherCare Home. Grandpa was a kind, gentle man and a great story-teller. He loved the family get togethers and his greatest pleasure was the visits with the grandchildren and the littlest members of the family, Josie and Rhodes. The family would like to thank the LutherCare Communities for the excellent care given to our dear father and grandfather. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Northern Funeral Service – MacKenzie Chapel, 130-9th St. E. Prince Albert, SK. Courtesy parking across from the funeral home. Interment will be held at the South Hill Cemetery.
