MACDONALD, PERRY K. - The passing of Perry Kitchener MacDonald, husband of the late Mary (Allen) MacDonald occurred Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the Veteran’s Health Unit, Fredericton. He was 95. Born January 16, 1916 in Pokiok, NB, he was a son of the late David E. and Ethel E. (Grant) MacDonald. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Perry enlisted in The Canadian Armed Forces on October 22, 1942 and retired from military service on March 25, 1946. He was a craftsman with RCEME in Britain during WWII. Upon completion of his military career, he became a Bridge Inspector for the Province of NB. Perry is survived by a son, Eric MacDonald and his wife, Diana, of Island View; two daughters, Susan York and her husband, Stephen, of Fredericton, and Carole MacDonald, of Fredericton; four grandchildren, Natalie MacDonald, Jennifer MacDonald, Joshua York and Meghan York; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; wife, Mary (2003); as well as six brothers, Hedley, Roy, Neil, Dean, Lorne, infant brother, Lewis; and one sister, Vena.
The family will receive condolences at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 from 6 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel on
Wednesday, July 27 at 11:00 am. Burial will be private and for family only. Memorial contributions to the Fredericton Veteran’s Health Unit would be appreciated by the family.
