It is with great sadness that the family of Grace Evelyn Thompson, age 77, of Amherst, N.S., announce her sudden passing on Friday, July 22, 2011, at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, N.S. Born in Brae, P.E.I., she was a daughter of the late Walter and Eva (Culleton) MacEachern. In her younger years Grace worked at Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst, for many years and later became a homemaker. She adored her family, her many friends at Tantramar Place and her pet cat Missy.
Grace will be sadly missed by her daughter Eva (Joe) Maddison of Brookdale, two sons Donald of Calgary, Alta., and Walter (Debbie) of Edmonton, Alta., grandchildren Tammy (Jeff) Phinney of Midgic, N.B., Robroy (Linda) MacDonald of Brookdale, Rebecca “Becky” Thompson of Fredericton, N.B., and Allison Upsdell of Edmonton; great-grandchildren Nathaneal, Evan, Abigeal and Kristen. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in the Amherst Cemetery. Memorial donations in Grace’s memory may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses.
