The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009 of Keith Melvin MacKinnon of Ellerslie, P.E.I., aged 77 years. Keith was born on Aug. 29, 1932, in Inverness, P.E.I., to his late parents, James and Pearl (nee Adams) MacKinnon. Beloved husband of Hattie (nee Boyle) MacKinnon and loving father of sons, James at home, Robert (Theresa) of Charlottetown, Allison (Susan Lea) of Mermaid, daughters, Diane (Ivan) Sproule of Union Corner, and Darlene (Jamie) of Vancouver, B.C. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Angela Ramsay, Anita Harper, Nicholas MacLean, Calvin and Kyle Sproule, Grace Robin Manning, Zachary and Mackinnon Pringle and three great-grandchildren, Emily and Jessica Ramsay and Kalie Harper. Keith is survived by his sister, Reby Milligan, and brother, Frank (Myrtle) MacKinnon of Tyne Valley, sister- in- law, Reby (Raymond) Culleton of Freeland, brother-in-law, Edgar Stewart of Summerside and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his baby twin brother Kelsey, brother John “Ted” and (Mary) MacKinnon, brothers-in-law, Charlie Milligan and Wallace Boyle, sisters-in-law, Eva Stewart and Mae Hutchinson, and his mother and father-in-law, Thomas and Sarah Boyle. Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Friday, for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 2:30 p.m. . Interment to take place in the Freeland United Church Cemetery. Visiting hours on Thursday evening only, 6 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Palliative Care Unit of the Prince County Hospital, Summerside or the CanadianCancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
