We regret to announce the peaceful passing of Lawrence Barker, from Open Hall, age 93, at the Bonavista Health Care Centre, Bonavista on July 18, 2011. Predeceased by his parents Beatrice and Andrew; brothers, Alphonsus and Louis; sister, Genevive. Survived by his wife Mary (Bawn); brother James; children, Barbara (Alister Kielly), Arthur (Anita), Jean (Clement Benteau), Raymond (Bernadette), Beatrice (Jack Mullins), Ruth (Donald Fennell), Frances, and Paul (Alma); grandchildren Ken, Diana, Kim, Jennifer, Sarah, Andrew, Elana, Karen, Jaspen, Cassandra, Laura, and Christopher; great grandchildren, Olivia, Rebecca, Tyler, Ethan, Claire. Rested at the Roman Catholic Church, Open Hall, from where the funeral service, officiated by Father David Joy took place on July 20th, 2011, with interment following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy’s Funeral Home, Random Island.
