LINDSAY, Samuel Elwood “Sam” – 86, Onslow Mountain, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday morning, July 24, 2011, at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born March 15, 1925, in Belmont, he was a son of the late Alfred and Pearl (Morrisey) Lindsay. Sam worked at C.I.L. in Onslow until a heart attack on November 5, 1970, forced him to retire. Sam is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Bella Eileen Delaney; children, Duncan (Zoe), Percy, Ricky (Bonita), Gail (Bill) MacKenzie, all of Onslow Mountain; Paul (Barb McNutt), Otterbrook; Madelyn “Maggie” Lindsay (Greg Frizell), Onslow Mountain; grandchildren, Aaron, Stacey, Jeffery, Christina, Katie, Travis, Amy; sisters, Clara Pratt, Elsie Eagles, Truro; brothers, Russell (Anne), Annapolis Valley; Dexter (Barb), Truro; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Johnny. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, July 28, 2011. Interment in Crossroads Cemetery.
