LINDSAY, Samuel Elwood “Sam” – 86, Onslow Mountain, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday morning, July 24, 2011, at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born March 15, 1925, in Belmont, he was a son of the late Alfred and Pearl (Morrisey) Lindsay. Sam worked at C.I.L. in Onslow until a heart attack on November 5, 1970, forced him to retire. Sam is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Bella Eileen Delaney; children, Duncan (Zoe), Percy, Ricky (Bonita), Gail (Bill) MacKenzie, all of Onslow Mountain; Paul (Barb McNutt), Otterbrook; Madelyn “Maggie” Lindsay (Greg Frizell), Onslow Mountain; grandchildren, Aaron, Stacey, Jeffery, Christina, Katie, Travis, Amy; sisters, Clara Pratt, Elsie Eagles, Truro; brothers, Russell (Anne), Annapolis Valley; Dexter (Barb), Truro; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Johnny. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, July 28, 2011. Interment in Crossroads Cemetery. No flowers by request. If so desired, donations in Sam’s memory to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Canadian Diabetes Association are welcomed.
