ARMSTRONG - Mary Kay of Swift Current, SK passed away peacefully on Friday, July 22, 2011 at the age of 92 years at the Herbert Integrated Facility. Mary will be missed and lovingly remembered by her son Donald (Dorothy) Armstrong of Saskatoon, daughters Marlene Crossman of Davidson and Linda (Reg) Hornung of Vanguard; grandchildren Shelley, David, Robert, Darren, Brad, Blaire and Jaimie; great-grandchildren Bronwyn, Zoe, Delaney, Brady, Tyler, Magdellena, Grayce, Brittany, Paige, Moira, Isabella, Emily, Carter and Adam. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Robert in 1995 after 51 years of marriage; her parents, brothers and sister. Mary was born on January 26, 1919 in Paisley, Scotland. She joined the British Armed Forces and met Robert at the Paisley skating rink when he was on leave in Scotland with the 8th Reconnaissance Regiment, 14th Hussars. They were married on March 27, 1944 and Mom later sailed to Canada in 1945 as a war bride, joining Dad upon his
return from overseas and settling in Swift Current. Mom remained in Swift Current until 2009 when she moved to Herbert Manor and later to the Herbert Integrated Facility. Mom enjoyed bowling (winning many trophies), knitting and sewing and getting together with friends for coffee. The family would like to express our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the staff of the Manor and Integrated Facility in Herbert for their loving compassionate care of our Mom.
