Benjamin, Shirley R. - of Fall River, Halifax Co. passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family at the age of 62. Shirley was survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Reid; daughters, Kim MacLeod (Ken), Fall River and Crystal Leblanc (Durwin), Fall River; her two beautiful granddaughters whom she was so proud, Raylea and Cassidy. Also, survived by her mother, Thora (Smith) Meldrum, Debert; a brother, Murray Meldrum (Wendy), Southampton; and many brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her father, Cletus Meldrum. Shirley was a wonderful, caring woman who touched the lives and hearts of so many. Her passions were her family and gardening. She will be forever loved and missed. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Barb Stewart for her honesty and compassion, as well as our VON nurses, Judy and Jean. Cremation has taken place and funeral service will be held Sunday, September 20, 2009 at 3 pm in Grace United Church, Port Greville, Rev. Valerie Kingsbury officiating.
