Kathleen Gunther 1920 - 2009, KELOWNA, B.C. Mom went peacefully to be with her Lord early on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 after a long, courageous battle with pain and infections. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, John , her daughter Barb (Merv) Zaleschuk of Saskatoon, son Barry of Sun Valley, grandson Reg Peters, granddaughter Jane (Kevin) Rathgeber; three sisters Grace Monfils, Barbara (Ralph) Drake and Gwen Symonds all of Brighton, England. Greeting her in Heaven will be her mother and father, brothers Jack, Bert and Pat Warren and daughter-in-law Cher Gunther. Kit arrived in Canada from Brighton, England on the ship Mauretania October 1944 - a hopeful excited war bride with her 10 month babe-in-arms. Kathleen and John settled in Saskatoon. She loved writing cards to everyone for anniversaries, birthdays, Christmas and Easter and we will miss that. Our deep appreciation to special friends, neighbors and medical staff whom she loved and who made her life complete. Her faith was very strong and we give thanks to Pastors Kentel, Reisdorf and Lee for their loving support. Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at First Lutheran Church, Kelowna.
