The death of St. Clair Smith, husband of Rita C. (Nelson) Smith, occurred at Loch Lomond Villa in Saint John, N.B., on Tuesday, July 26, 2011.
St. Clair was born in Kelly’s Cross, P.E.I., on Dec. 9, 1918, a son of the late Jerome and Maria (Callaghan) Smith, and had resided in Saint John since 1955. He had been employed as a carpenter until his retirement a number of years ago.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two brothers, Francis of Kinkora, P.E.I., and Linus of Kelly’s Cross; and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church, Saint John, N.B., on Friday morning at 9 a.m. Interment will take place in St. Joseph¹s Cemetery. www.fitzpatrickfh.com
