February 25, 1923 - September 25, 2009. Passed peacefully away with grace and dignity, and surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, September 25, 2009 at the L.A. Miller Center in St. John's.
Predeceased by beloved husband Calvin Green, parents Clarence and Gladys Parrott and brother Graham and sister-in-law Belle Parrott.
Eileen was loved and respected by many family and friends and leaves to mourn her children: son Derek (Jean) of Winterton, NL, granddaughters Carolyn (Mark Perry) and great-grandchildren Olivia, Grace, and Ben and Jennifer (Mark Sheppard); son Irvin (Janet) of Winterton, NL, grandsons Jason (Nicole) and great-grandson Noah, John (Tara) and great-granddaughter Nora, Calvin (Alison) and great-granddaughter Jane and Adam; daughter Dr. Mary Green (Dr. Greg Foley), Centreville, NS, grandchildren Heather Tucker and Joshua Tucker; daughter Catherine Tremblett (Craig), St. John's, NL, grandchildren Victoria, Sarah, Luke and Beth Tremblett. Also leaving to mourn her siblings: five sisters Lorna Parsons (Norman), Claire Agens (David), Enid O'Donaghue, Phyllis Phillips (John), Joan Bell (Rick Awender), and two brothers John Parrott (Muriel), Clarence Parrott (Julie). Eileen was very proud of her family, and enjoyed her large circle of extended family and friends, especially Trinity UCW, Dr. Ed and Alice Moulton, Gerald and Margaret Green, and life-long friends Sally Reid and Harriett Robelyn. Eileen lived a life of Christian faith which she demonstrated through her kind deeds and many years of volunteer work with various church organizations and charities. She was proud of her heritage and home community of Winterton.
The family would like to express special thanks and appreciation for the medical care and concern given to Eileen by: Dr. Feung Leung, Dr. Bruce Sussex, and Dr. Katherine Stringer. Thank you to the administration and caring staff of Elizabeth Towers during her four years there. A special thank you is extended to the doctors and staff of the L.A. Miller Center for their professional and personal care.
At her request cremation has taken place. Visitation at Green's Funeral Home, Winterton, NL, from 10 a.m. to noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10 to 12:00 noon on Sunday. A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity United Church, Winterton, on Sunday, September 27, at 2:00 p.m. with inurnment following at Trinity United Church Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donations in her memory may be made to either, the Mission and Service Fund of the United Church of Canada or, to the Trinity Conception Placentia (TCP) Health Foundation.
