Marion Jean Waldegger

Waldegger, Marion Jean, age 83 yrs of Swift Current, SK passed away September 21, 2009 at Cypress Regional Hospital with her family at her side. Marion is survived by her husband Kasper; children, Sharon Gulka, Laureen Bolding, Kenton Waldegger, Michele (Gary) Hoffert and Michael Waldegger; grandchildren, Sara (Jesse) Korella, Chris Gulka, Ryan Bolding, Jenny Bolding, Lucas Hoffert and Alyssa Hoffert; great grandchildren, Jace, Kale and Aislyn Korella, her sisters, Betty Nelson and Carol (Abe) Voth and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Sarah and Stanley Gregson; son Bryant Waldegger and grandson Jeffrey Bolding. The prayer service was held Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 7:00 p.m., from Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church with Velma Wilson and Eileen Zinn officiating. Blessing of the family was by Sister Margaret Sautner. The funeral mass was held Friday, September 25, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Sathiadas Antony officiating. The interment service took place at Mount Pleasant Burial Park. The pianist for service was Marlene Dolter, accompanied by the Catholic Church Choir. The eulogy was presented by Marion's daughter Michele. Readers were Lucas Hoffert and Cliff Nimegeers. The ushers were Leonard Schmidt and Henry Bosch. An honor guard was formed by members of the Catholic Women's League, honorary pallbearers were Ursuline Associates and active pallbearers were Marion's nephews Blair Nelson, Daryl Nelson, Tim Nelson, Tony DePadua, Terry Voth and Bob Waldegger. Marion (nee: Gregson) was born in Southport, England on March 2, 1926. She attended school at Paynton, Sk. Marion married Kasper Waldegger on October 17, 1951, and they would have celebrated their 58th anniversary this year. Marion was a bookkeeper at McGee's Store in Paynton and Robinson Store in Nipawin, Sk. and after her marriage she continued keeping books for Kasper's construction company. Her most important job was in her home as wife and mother. She was truly devoted to her family. Marion loved to host many family gatherings. She found joy in simply spending time with her children and grandchildren. Marion was a blessing to her family. She was a kind and gentle person and always wore a beautiful smile. She was compassionate and caring and easily put others before herself. She showed great courage and strength throughout her life's journey. Marion had a strong commitment to her faith and was an avid member in her parish community. She was a C.W.L. member for over 50 years and was an active member of the Ursuline Associates. She continued to serve in her church, leading prayers and meetings, serving at funeral masses, visiting the sick, acting on the honor guard and participating in countless other activities. Marion will be deeply missed by her family and friends but they are comforted to know she is at peace, home with the Lord and together again with her parents, her son and her grandson.
