It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Doris Bragg, age 78, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney Mines, Doris was the daughter of the late John and Esther (Dalton) Young. She was employed for many years at Peoples Store in North Sydney, where she loved helping and talking with all her customers. Doris was a devout and faithful member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney.
She is survived by her loving husband, Walter Bragg; her two daughters, Lorna (Larry) Franko, London, Ont. and Sharon (Jay) Furtah, Windsor, Ont., three grandchildren, Candice (Enzo) Rocca, Jake and Shane Furtah; sisters, Bernadette Allan, Pickering, Ont., Jeanette Boutilier, North Sydney, Loretta Johnson, Sydney Mines and one brother, John Young, North Sydney.
Doris was predeceased by her sister, Millie Tobin and her brother, Raymond ‘Buddy’ Young.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of VON Palliative Care and 4th Floor Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Visitation for Doris will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Patrick O’Neill officiating. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
