Doris Bordage
BORDAGE, DORIS - Doris, 93, of Spruce Street, Moncton, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2011 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre. Born March 12, 1918 in Acadieville, NB, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Marie (Babineau) Bordage. At 13, he started working in the woods until he moved to Moncton in 1955 to work at CN until his retirement in 1983. He was also a self-employed trucker and deliveryman since 1939. He was a member of the N-D-de-Grâce Parish, the N-D-de-Grâce Golden Age Club, a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus 6468 Council (Louis Hébert), a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Msgr. Roy M. McDonald Assembly 0618. In 2002, he received the Medal of Merit, the highest award the Knights give, in recognition of his involvement with his community. He was also a member of the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Golden Age Club. Doris is survived by his seven children, Aline Gallant (Clement) of Melrose, Eva, Léo (late Gail), and Ronald Bordage, all of Moncton, Yolande Boucher (Paul), of Cocagne, Jacqueline Matthews (Richard), of Caissie Cape, and Léon (Susan), of Cambridge, ON; two daughters-in-law, Yvonne Vautour (late Laurent) and Annette (late Auguste); a sister, Dorilla Majors (Lucien), of Ottawa; two brothers, Léonide and Dollard, both of Moncton; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. He is predeceased by his wife, Marguerite, née Henri (2010); three sons, Laurent (2011), Auguste (2003) and Joseph (1950); his brothers and sisters, Aline Cartier, Robert, Raymond, François, Alban and Yvon.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette’s Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Monday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm, and Tuesday from 10 am until time of departure (10:45). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-Grâce R.C. Church, 858 Mountain Road, Moncton, on Tuesday, August 2 at 11 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery.
