John Oudendyk passed away suddenly on July 24, 2011 with his loving family by his side.

John loved to be surrounded by his friends and family, especially his grandchildren who kept him young at heart. He had a creative mind and loved to learn new things and discuss ideas. He had a great affinity for animals and could never pass a dog without a greeting. Listening to classical music brought him great joy throughout his life. John was very athletic. He ran everyday, obtained a black belt in Judo and enjoyed hiking in the hills.

The qualities people will remember most about John are his quick wit, jovial smile and contagious sense of humour.

John will be fondly remembered by his wife Maria (and extended family); three children Michael (Tami), Joyce and Lisa (Mark); along with his seven grandchildren Christie, Bret, Jake, Cole, Chase, Annika and Jasmine; sisters Gre, Cori, Kitty, Anneke and their families in Holland; dear friends Jan and Christina Schijf of Kamloops and many others.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of John's life at the house on Sunday, August 14, 2011 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
