It is with much sadness that we announce the death of Reginald Good, husband, father, grandfather and dear friend on Sunday, July 31st, 2011, aged 87 years. Predeceased by his first wife Faith (Paterson) and son Jim. He is survived by wife Ellen Dawe; his children: Edward (Diane) and Linda Good; grandchildren: John, Kate, Sam, Sara and Conor; also Ellen’s children: Victoria Dawe, Christopher Dawe (Debbie), David Dawe (Janice) and their families. Reg was born in Orillia, Ontario in 1923 and moved to Newfoundland at the age of 25. He was a veteran of the Second World War. He was instrumental in setting up Medicare in Newfoundland in the late 1960’s. He spent time in England as an entrepreneur and on his return to Newfoundland to serve as chairman with the Public Utilities Board. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Tuesday, August 2nd, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011 at 11 a.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel.
