85, Popes Harbour. Passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital in Sheet Harbour. Born December 25, 1925 in Bay Roberts, NL. He was a son of the late Albert and Mary (Robertson) Howard. Noel served in the Royal Airforce in the Second World War. After the war he worked as Senior Director of Operations for many years with Western Union International with NASA in the Apollo program. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Courcelette Branch 58 Sheet Harbour. Survived by son Wayne (Deborah Bower), Hammonds Plains; daughters: Patricia (Bill) Clements, Dartmouth, Sandra Howard, Ottawa, Janice Howard, Wilmington, Del.; sister Ada Leshana, St. John’s, NL; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife Alice; sisters: Edith, Nell, Maisie, Effie, Sandra and brothers: Harry, Edward and Fred. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held today August 2nd at 2:00 p.m. in DS Crowell and Son Funeral Home, 22558 Highway #7, Sheet Harbour. Rev. Katie Tait officiating.
