Marsden William Moxon

Moxon, Marsden William “Mar” – 75, of Truro Heights, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, Nova Scotia. Born on January 4, 1936, in Waverley, Nova Scotia, Marsden was the son of the late George and Jean (Sellars) Moxon. He had a great love for the outdoors having spent countless hours fishing and hunting with family and friends. Marsden had very fond memories of living in Riversdale with his family in the 1950s, where he made life-long connections. He enjoyed farm life often visiting the Kirk farm in New Annan to lend a hand. While employed as an insulator with Guildford’s Limited, Marsden enjoyed working on jobs throughout the Atlantic Provinces. He later worked for G&M Insulation and Siding Limited and the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board. He was a member of the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers, Local 116 for 35 years. After retiring, he made many new buddies while sipping coffee and chatting at Tim Hortons. He is survived by his daughter, Natasha Moxon, Truro Heights; her mother, Phyllis Stewart-Blois (Kendell), Truro Heights; brother, Roy (Joan) Moxon, Fletcher’s Lake; sisters, Ruby (Bill) Ripley, North River; Shirley (Tom) Nash, Lower Sackville; Georgina Chinn, Halifax; brother-in-law, Murray Webber, Dartmouth; former brothers-in-law, Spurgeon (Wanda) Stewart, Charlottetown; Stanley Keating (Heather Stewart), Tatamagouche; former sisters-in-law, Shelia (Jeff) Roberts, Peterborough; Lorna (Wayne) MacNutt, Warwick Mountain; Reby Stewart, Valley; Linda Stewart, Kennetcook; Veronica Joudrie, Dartmouth; family friend, Elaine Adams, Halifax; many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Ruth Moxon; Gladys Webber. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 3 from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. with a memorial service on Thursday, August 4 at 2 p.m., both at Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Pastor Wade Harvey officiating. Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations may be made to the Woodcock Conservation Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
