Alice Lucy Sutcliffe (nee Green)
Alice Lucy Sutcliffe (nee Green), in her 98th year, died on July 31, 2011 at the Magnolia Continuing Care Community, Enfield, Nova Scotia.
She was the third of nine children of Margaret and Walter Green. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Alice is predeceased by her husband Raymond, and son Grant.
Alice was born in Everett, Ontario on March 25, 1914 and lived in and around the Alliston area until she moved to Truro, Nova Scotia in September, 2007.
Alice is survived by four children, Eunice (Ross), Bryon (Nancy), Gayle, Adele (Michael) and stepson Raymond (Margaret). Grandchildren Kim, Ron, Sherri, Todd, Nadine, Kristyna, Shanyn, Jeremy, Vicki, Jeff, Rawn and step-grandchildren Martyn and Jill and 17 great-grandchildren.
Special thanks is extended to the staff in Sand Dollar Cottage at the Magnolia, Dr. Desormeau, and Dawn and Valerie, Palliative Care nurses, for the loving care and kindness showered on Alice.
A memorial service will be held at St John’s Anglican Church, Truro on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation in the church at 1:00. Funeral service will be held in St Andrew’s Anglican Church, Alliston, Ontario, on Monday, August 8, 2011. Burial will be at St David’s Anglican Church, Everett, Ontario.
