ANDREWS – William Henry

William “Bill” Andrews died on Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Victoria Hospital with his family by his side. Bill was born, raised and farmed in the Alingly district all his life. He started his working life hauling cord wood to town at the age of 14 and took over the family farm shortly thereafter. Bill met Lena and they were married in 1946 and together they raised their family on the same home quarter he was brought up. Farming was his life’s work and he especially loved raising pigs. Bill was still farming right up until the spring of this year. Bill is survived by his wife Lena; his children John (Dorothy) of Brightsand Lake, SK, Barry (Maxine Boyd) of Carsland, AB, Brian (Lillian Jacobson) of Spruce Home, SK and Shirley (Don Tomyn) Andrews of MacDowall, SK; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers and sisters Percy, Vera, Ruby, Lyle, Stella, Eli and Gabe. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at the Nordale Hall, 1306 - 6th Avenue NW, Prince Albert, SK with Art Pederson officiating. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to Charity of Donor’s Choice.
