FREEMAN, Paul Edward - 89, of Harmony, Queens County, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, July 28th, 2011. Born in Harmony Mills, Queens County, he was a son of the late Edward J. and Agnes (Smith) Freeman. Paul, along with his father and brother, owned and operated the Caledonia Hardwood Company for a number of years before he became a clerk for the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission from where he retired. He was a member of the Caledonia United Baptist Church, Mechanics Lodge #78, A.F. & A.M. Caledonia and Rossignol Chapter #6, RAM. He is survived by his daughters Aileen of Maynard, Mass., Ann (Murray) Lohnes of Harmony; his son Harold (Cheryl) of Harmony; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; His sisters Ellen Smith and Alma Laird, both of Bridgewater, Marjorie Cushing of Caledonia, Geraldine “Geri” (Chris) Nolan of Mahone Bay; His brother Raymond (Eleanor) of Harmony. He was predeceased by his wife Olive (Osmond) and his sister Mary. Funeral service was held Monday, August 1st, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from Caledonia United Baptist Church. Reverend John Boddy officiated. A private family interment with a Masonic memorial service will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, Kempt. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
