HURLBERT, Gordon Raymond (Ray) Jr. – 57, Dayton, passed away on August 1, 2011 at home. Born in Yarmouth, he was a son of the late Ray Hurlbert Sr. and Kathleen (Seeley) Pitman. Ray is survived by his stepfather and stepmother Ron and Jennie Pitman, Yarmouth, County; daughter, Nicole Hurlbert, Winnipeg; sisters, Vera Brantnall, Porters Lake; Ellen Ann (Donnie) Surette, Wedgeport; brothers, David Hurlbert, Winnipeg; Ted (Leah) Pitman, Mark (Mary) Pitman, Ernest (Jackie) Pitman, all of Yarmouth; his former wife, Sheila (Kitchen) Hurlbert, Winnipeg; one grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Trina Hurlbert, and brother, Wayne Hurlbert. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. There was no visitation at the request of the family. A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 5 in Mountain Cemetery, Yarmouth, Father John MacPherson officiated. Family flowers only.
