The family of the late Karen Fern Decker wish to convey their gratitude for the outpouring of sympathy through cards, flowers, messages and food throughout Karen’s illness and recent passing.

The kindness and concern of her co-workers past and present at Abitibi and Canada Post. Special thanks to her dear friend Michelle Brenton, who twice travelled from British Columbia to be at her side. She gave support, encouragement and so much comfort to Karen and family during her illness, and returned to be at her side during her final hours.

Thanks to Rev. Dawn Barrett for the spiritual guidance and prayers during this difficult time. Thank you to Susan Fowlow and the Anglican Choir for their part in the service, their attention to detail and commitment to Karen’s wishes will always be a source of comfort. Also to the Anglican Church Women and Colemans for the provision of food and refreshments after the funeral.

To the staff of the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, a very special thank you for your kindness and attention to Karen during her final days. She was truly moved by your care and concern for her. Special thanks to Elaine Benoit and her family for caring for Karen’s beloved granddaughter Mya throughout the final days.

Thanks to the many friends who were there for us during this difficult time and truly shared in our sorrow. Your kindness will always be remembered. A special thank you as well to Aunt Marina (Johnson) for her love and devotion to Karen throughout her life and during her illness.

Our memories of Karen are the greatest gift she left us to enjoy.
