With heavy hearts, we, the family, regret to announce the death of our beloved mother, nannie, sis and aunt, Mary Margaret Muise, Riverside Drive, Sydney River, who passed away Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late James and Veronica (MacNeil) Sampson.
Margie was predeceased by her husband, Roderick in 2006.
She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church and the CWL.
Surviving are her daughters, Donna (Donald) MacPherson and Laura Muise, Sydney, Annette (Brian) Keough, Riverview, N.B., and Alison (Patrick) Shanahan, Kanata, Ont.; sons, Roderick Jr. and Richard, Sydney River; sisters, Muriel Gillis (Dick Tibbetts), Florida, and Joanne MacNeil, Ont.; brothers, Angus (Julia) and James, Massachusetts, Al (Cathy), Maine, Robert, Antigonish, and Patrick (Laurel), New Waterford; Nannie to Scott MacPherson and Cristin and Caitlin Shanahan, whom she adored. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel, Thursday 4-8 p.m. A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Friday 2 p.m., with Rev. William MacPherson officiating. Interment in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery.
Family flowers only. Memorials may be made to Fatima House, a local food bank or a charity of one’s choice.
