It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Cameron ‘Cam’ LeBlanc on Aug. 3, 2011 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Sydney Mines, Cameron was the son of the late Clarence and Elizabeth (Todd) LeBlanc.
Cameron was a member of the Salvation Army and Community Involvement of the Disabled, Sydney. He was employed at the NSCC, Port Hawkesbury, inventory control until his retirement.
He enjoyed life, was crafty and inventive when it came to making the most of any situation. He loved to socialize by playing cards, games and attending community events.
Cameron was a loving and caring husband. He will always be remembered by his family and friends for his independence and never being afraid of hard work.
Cameron is survived by his wife, Patricia (Brewer) LeBlanc; children, Heather (Nigel) Cadogan, Bill (Juanita) Laurie, Pam LeBlanc and Billy Peterson; grandchildren, Jessy, Jeffery, Miranda, Antonia, Emily, Anthony and Tyra and a great-grandson, Landon. He is also survived by his brothers, Jim (Sheila), Ralph (Pat), Melvin (Debbie), Kenny; brother in-law, Courtney; mother in-law, Olive Brewer as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, Cameron was predeceased by his brother, Matthew and sister, Helen Marie.
Visitation for the late Cameron LeBlanc will be held at the Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street) today (Saturday), Aug. 6, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday Aug. 7 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to celebrate Cameron’s life will be held on Monday, Aug. 8 at 1 p.m. at the Pier Community Funeral Home, All Faith Chapel with Kevin Head officiating. Light refreshments will be served in the reception area. Interment will take place in Hardwood Hill Cemetery, Sydney.
Donations in memory of Cameron may be made to the Spina Bifida Association.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of the Pier Community Funeral Home.
