GODDARD, LAURENE A. (BROAD) - Laurene A. (Broad) Goddard, 86, of Spencer Memorial Home, Moncton, with her loving family at her side, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, August 5, 2011. Born in Upper Brighton, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Alice (Day) Robinson. Laurene was a former school teacher in Holmesville, NB. She was a retired care giver having worked at The Moncton Hospital, Spencer Memorial Home and Alcorn Manor. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a member of First Baptist Church Idle Hours Seniors Group and a member of the Moncton Wesleyan Church Golden Years Fellowship Seniors Group. Laurene enjoyed music, especially playing the organ and piano at church and in various seniors groups, playing Skip-Bo, bowling and socializing with her friends and spending precious time with her family. Laurene will be sadly missed by her children, Alice Arsenault (Clarence) of Moncton, Mary Will (late Karl) of BC, Fred Broad (Linda) of Riverview, Charles Broad (Anna) and Stephen Broad (Jeannie) both of BC and David Broad of Perth Andover; 17 cherished grandchildren; 17 precious great grandchildren; brother, Arthur Robinson (Marilyn) of Saint John; special friend, Millie Higdon of Moncton; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands, Ronald Broad (1965) and Earl Goddard (1998); sisters, Pauline and Glenna.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), Monday from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. Funeral Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, Tuesday, August 9, 2011, 11:00am with Rev. Dr. J. Richard Jackson officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Wharton Cemetery, Upper Kent, NB.
