It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of our loving son, grandson, brother, nephew and uncle, Paul Ronald Forrest, age 19, of Point Aconi, on Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, at his home.
Born in North Sydney, Paul is the son of Paula Fraser (Blaise LeBlanc) and Paul (Lori) Forrest. He was a member of the Militia of the Canadian Armed Forces, serving with the Cape Breton Highlanders. Besides militia, Paul enjoyed from an early age, his time spent fishing with his mother and his grandfather, John Willie Fraser. He was a member of St. Joseph parish, Bras d’Or.
Besides his parents, Paul is survived by two sisters, Madison and Makayla; a stepbrother, Mitchell; a nephew, Colby; his uncle, Joey (Laura Lee) Fraser and their children, Jonathan and Melissa; his aunts, Joanne (Paul) Lynk and their children, Josh and Kate, and Judy (Diane) Fraser; his paternal grandparents, David and Florence Forrest; his aunts, Deneene Forrest (Roger), Joeliene (Duane) Jessome, Doreen Keagan, Shelly Forrest (Troy), his uncles Travis (Laurie) Forrest, Don (Laurie) Forrest, David (Eileen) Forrest; stepsister and brother, Morgan and Dalton Leblanc; also many nieces and nephews, and his special friend, Timothy Forrest.
Paul was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, John William and Margaret Fraser and his uncle, Angus Keagan.
Visitation for Paul will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or with Rev. Peter MacLeod officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
