WARD, Muriel May — 93, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2011, in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born in Charleston, Queens Co., N.S. she was a daughter of the late Hastings B. and Catherine (Baker) Anthony. A homemaker most of her life, Muriel became a personal care worker in her later years. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary, a Board member of the Arthritis Society, a Rebecca Lodge member, a holder of volunteer certificates from several groups and an active member of the Windsor Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Carman A. Ward; two sons, James G. Ward and Timothy R. Ward (in infancy); brothers, Hulbert, Carl, Roland, Cyril and Clyde; sister, Ruth Bowman. Surviving are daughters, Katherine B. (Fred) Chambers, Newport Station; Patricia A. (Gary) Miller, Falmouth; son, Carman Cyril (Lorie), Lemberg Sask.; sister, Bell Chambers, Dykeland Lodge, Windsor; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Arrangements were entrusted to Lohnes-DeMont Funeral and Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317), where the family received visitors Wednesday, June 22 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held in the Lohnes-DeMont Funeral Service Chapel at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 23, Rev. Debra Mosher officiating. Private family burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery. A reception took place in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre.
