Passed peacefully away on August 7, 2011 at the Palliative Care Unit, surrounded by her loving family, Helen Oates, formerly of Carbonear. Retired teacher from St. Michael's School, St. John's. Leaving to mourn her sister, Enid French (Sidney-deceased) of St. John's; special nephew, Ron French (Cynthia) of St. John's; nephew, Carl Oates (Gwen) and niece, Barbara Sullivan (Tom) both of Carbonear as well as many friends. At Helen's request there will be no visitation. A service to celebrate her life will take place from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
