Passed peacefully away at the Dr. O’Mahony Memorial Manor, Clarenville on Monday, August 8, 2011, Cecil Burton Strong of Clarenville, aged 88 years. Leaving to mourn are his children Jacqueline Barr, Ruth Short (William), Angela, Joan, Douglas, Deborah Vautour (Louis), Victoria (Ralph Wheaton), William, Rebeccah (Jim), Paulette Lambert (Henry) and Regina Yates (Alistaire); grandchildren Katherine, Robin, Randy (Lisa), Darrin (Heather), Tony (Wanda), Desiree, Angie, Stephen, Gordon, Justin (Donna), Rachel (John), Shannon (Dave), Dennis (Patricia), Debbie, Douglas, Jennifer, Tara, Ashley and Gerald; great grandchildren Mitchell, Makayla, Ryan, Jessica, Michael, Paige, Leah, Jackson, Kieran, Brady and Elysa; brother Angus (Winnie); sisters Lorna Macdonald (Vaughan), Joan Duffitt (Jack) and Elizabeth Muller. Also a large extended family and many friends. Rested at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Friday, August 12, 2011 at Memorial United Church, Clarenville with interment at United Cemetery, Church Hill, Clarenville. In his memory donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
