It is with great sadness that the family of the late Reneé Dorothy Thomas announce her sudden passing on Monday, September 28th, 2009 at the Health Science Centre, St. John’s at the age of 78 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her son Larry Thomas, Corner Brook; daughters: Marilee (Brian) Layte and Michelle (Carl) Pope both of Ontario; grandchildren: Andrew, Amanda and Jada; sister Jean Roberts, Springdale; brothers and sisters-in-law: Max (Clara) Thomas, Corner Brook, Garfield (Daphne) Thomas, Boom Siding, Reneé (Frank) Penney, Pasadena, Joan (Roy) Wiseman, Pasadena, Wally Thomas, Corner Brook, Melvin Thomas, Corner Brook; Lillian Fudge, Corner Brook, Violet Fudge, St. John’s and Rita Fudge, St. John’s; special friend Shirley Fiander, Corner Brook, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Clyde Thomas, parents Elihu and Dorothy Fudge, parents-in-law John and Tryphena Thomas, brothers and sisters Gord Fudge, Ena Necho, Wilson Fudge, Cecil Fudge, Aubrey Fudge and sister-in-law Geraldine Ferguson. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM and Friday 10-11 AM. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd at 2:00 PM from the Salvation Army Citadel, Clarence Street with Majors Robert and Cassie Kean officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
