Passed peacefully away at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Alice Marks on Monday, August 8th, 2011 at the age of 76. Leaving to mourn are her nine children: William (Yvonne), Patrick (Clara), Edward (Deborah), Thomas (Allison), Regina (Austin Pittman), Gerald (Catherine), Michael (Bonnie), Christopher and Kenneth; 15 grand-children and 11 great grandchildren; sister: Anne Frost, Michaels Harbour; brother: Billy Hynes, Corner Brook; sisters-in-law: Carrie Whelan, Frances Marks, Lorraine Hynes, Maisie Hynes and Joan Marks, Corner Brook; brother-in-law: Don Marks, Dartmouth, NS; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband, Gerald (2006); parents: William and Gladys Hynes; sisters: Mary and Regina; brothers: Hector, Benedict, Charles, Richard, Kevin, Frederick, Edward and Roy. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Tuesday evening, 7-9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 11th at 10:30 A.M. from All Hallows Roman Catholic Church, Humber Road, officiated by Father Ambrose Hynes. The interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
