At Foothills Hospital, Calgary, AB., on Friday, July 15, 2011, of Roland "Paul" Hawkins, age 59, formerly of Freeland. Born in Toronto on Oct. 9, 1951, Paul is the son of Rena (nee Milligan) and the late Roland Joseph Hawkins who predeceased his son in 1998. Survived by his mother Rena (Ed Mugridge), daughters Megan Hawkins(Jason Handrahan), Tyne Valley and Hilary Hawkins (Ryan Cooke), Fredericton, N.B. Loving grandfather to grandson Colby Handrahan. Survived by brothers Michael (Leslie Hawes), Netherlands; Christopher (Paula), Bowan Island, B.C. and sisters Virginia (Allan) Moore, Northam and Carla (David) Annand, Freeland. Paul is also survived by nephews Anthony Coughlin, Tyler and Jordan Moore, Cory (Danielle), Nicholas (Sonia) and Clark Annand and Cameron Hawkins, nieces, Emma Hawkins and Ashley Hawkins and numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Predeceased by his father Roland, grandparents George and Ada Milligan, Poplar Grove, Arthur and Gertrude Hawkins, North Sydney, N.S. Visitation on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011 at the Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel from 4-7 p.m. A memorial service to remember Paul will be held at 7:30 p.m., with Rev. Father Danny Wilson officiating. In memory of Paul, donations to St. Brigid's Roman Catholic Church Cemetery or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
