The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, of Earl J. Gaudet of St. Gilbert, P.E.I., dear husband of Leona (nee Cormier) Gaudet at the age of 85 years. He is the son of late Benoit and Sophie (nee Gallant) Gaudet. Besides his wife, Leona, he is survived by the following sons and daughters: Roma (Brenton) Collett of Summerside, Robert (Marisol) Gaudet of Sherwood Park, Alta., Thelma Cote (Richard Handy) of Summerside, Patsy (Ernest) Hughes of Sherbrook, P.E.I., Geri (Stan) Gallant of St. Gilbert and Peter (Donna) Gaudet of Summerside and also survived by a sister, Emily Gallant, of Summerside, and also grandchildren, Shauna and Alicia Collett, Rylan Gaudet and Tatiana Molina-Martinez, Justin and Jamie Cote, Jacqueline and Emma Hughes, Robyn and Jeremy Gallant and Devon Gaudet. He is also survived by in-laws, Frank and Marie Cormier, Rosella and Cyril Richard, John and Irene Cormier and Irene Cormier. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Lumina Gallant, Rita Arsenault, Nettie Chisholm , Elvina Gallant and Rose McInnis and a brother, Leonard Gaudet. Resting at the Evangeline Funeral Home, Urbainville, until Saturday, then to St. Phillippe and St. Jacques Church for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Visitation shall be received on Friday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
