Passed peacefully away on Monday, Aug. 8, 2011 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders, Roland Smith in his 85th year. Leaving to mourn his wife Cecilia and her family Marie (Bill) Gatehouse, Ottawa, Ontario; Walter (Greta) and families, Hawkes Bay; sister-in-law Phylis Smith, Amherst, Nova Scotia; nephew Robert, neice Heather and families; and a large circle of other relatives and friends, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. He was predeceased by his parents Roland and Jennie Smith, brothers Lorne and Vincent, and sister Doreen DeForest. Cremation took place at Humber Valley Crematorium Pasadena, on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011. Burial to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to Mental Health Society. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix.
