Taylor, Russell Ray Taylor, age 53 years, of Swift Current, SK, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2009 at Cypress Regional Hospital. The Memorial Service was held at 2:00 p.m. from First United Church, Swift Current, SK with Reverend Kevin Johnston officiating. The organist for service was Patti McCleary and the Life Tribute was presented by Gordon Olson. The ushers were Russell's nephews Brett and Joel Hunter. The Urn Bearers were Terry Stevenson, Marlon Miller and Bryan Philp. The interment service took place at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current. Sk. Russell is survived by his parents; Ray and Edith Taylor; his wife Shirley Taylor; daughters Renae (Travis) Harkes and Amanda (Sean) Cosby; his son Christopher Taylor; his grandson Wyatt Harkes; his brothers Randy (Judi) Taylor and Dean (Linda) Taylor; his sisters Sharon (Wayne) Merkel and Sheila (Curt) Hunter; also numerous nieces, nephews. He was predeceased by his mother-in-law Marie Coltart and father-in-law Frank Beigler; Grandma Teichroeb; Grandma and Grandpa Taylor Grandma and Grandpa Herron; uncle Dar Taylor and brother-in-law Danny Beigler. Russ was born in Yorkton, Sk. On May 20, 1956. He attended school at the Swift Current Comprehensive High School. He was employed by Husky Oil Company and married Shirley Beigler on March 4, 1977 in Swift Current, Sk. Russ was a member of the Maple Creek Shrine Club where his goal was to become a shrine clown walking in parades. He really enjoyed his shrine family. In his spare time Russ enjoyed collecting Die Cast Semi Trucks, fishing, anything involving farming, attending the Edmonton Grand prix with his brother-in-law and best friend Bryan Philp and playing and spending time with Wyatt his grandson. He loved all his co-workers at Husky. He got such a kick out of joking around and storytelling with his friends. His main love was his wife Shirley and his kids. He made sure they had everything they needed or wanted. Russ was the greatest grandpa and just adored his grandson Wyatt. He took every chance he could to be a "Big Kid" while enjoying Wyatt. He would have loved to see his newest grandson come into the world but we do believe that Grandpa Russ and his new grandson passed each other on the way through their journey.
