LeBLANC, Jeanne Emilie – 94, Villa St. Joseph-du-Lac, Dayton, and formerly of Wedgeport, Yarmouth Co., passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2011 in the villa. Born August 9, 1916 in Wedgeport, she was a daughter of the late John and Ambroisine (Pothier) LeBlanc. In her early years, Jeanne helped run the Wedgeport movie theatre, after which she moved to Hamilton, Ontario where she worked as a nutritionist’s assistant. Following their retirement she and her husband moved back to Wedgeport. Jeanne enjoyed line dancing, quilting and working in her flower gardens. She is survived by a brother, Willard (Regina) LeBlanc and a sister, Genesta Wallace, both of Wedgeport, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ronald John LeBlanc, and siblings, Alberta, Frances, Gertrude, Mandé, Zita and Virginia. Visitation took place from 2-4 & 7-9 Tuesday, with prayers at 8 p.m., both at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Wedgeport. The funeral mass was held on Wednesday, August 10, at 11 a.m. at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church, Wedgeport, Father Wieslaw Papuga and Msgr. Gerald LeBlanc officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
