Florence Roberts
Florence Bertha Roberts, 90, of the Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Telford, passed away August 11, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Maynard and Charlotte (MacKay) King.
Florence was a resident of the Glen Haven Manor for the past three years.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
During her working years, she worked at the former Coffee Pot in New Glasgow as well as the Lismore Fish Plant from where she retired. She enjoyed playing cards, auction 45’s in her past time.
She is survived by sons: Maynard (Marilou), Telford; James (Sandra), New Glasgow; Charles (Vera), Merigomish; Douglas (Cheryl), Broadway; daughters: Charlotte (David) MacLean, Cow Bay; Catherine (Jeff) Hancock, Alberta; Eileen (Joe) MacGillivary, Stellarton; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Fred Roberts, a daughter Dorothy Jean in infancy, several brothers and sisters.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of the Intensive Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital as well as a special thank you to the staff at the Glen Haven Manor.
Cremation to take place.
The family will receive visitors from 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow, from where a memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday with Rev. Brian Morgan presiding.
Burial of ashes to follow in the Telford Cemetery.
