Martin Ronald "Marty" Adey

Suddenly on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Martin Ronald Adey (Marty) of Portage la Prairie formerly of St. Johns, Newfoundland passed away at the age of 68 years. He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers-in-law: Andy Anderson and Walter O'Brien. Marty leaves to mourn his daughter Sherry; son Martin (Lori) and granddaughter Melissa (his princess) all of Ottawa and their mother Maureen; brother John (Mary) of New Brunswick; sisters: Margaret O'Brien, Marie (Matt) Prim, Maureen (Gord) Picco all of Newfoundland and Rita Anderson and Helen (Kevin) Knox of Portage la Prairie; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Marty was a member of the Army, Navy and Air Force Club and served time on the Executive Committee. Marty enjoyed playing cards and had a large pin collection for which he was very proud. His time was spent visiting and helping his friends with any projects that needed to be done. His greatest joy was spending time outside working on his flower beds and landscaping his garden. He was a Pied Piper to his many nieces and nephews, as well as his grandnieces and grandnephews. He will be forever loved and greatly missed by everyone whose lives he touched. Prayers will take place Friday, February 22, 2008 at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church led by Father Michael Wollbaum. Interment is to follow at Hillside Cemetery.
