Lena Annie Boucher
BOUCHER, LENA ANNIE - Lena Annie Boucher passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at the Loch Lomond Villa Nursing Home. Born 1921 on Miscou Island, NB she was the daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Boudin) Bezeau. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Henry Joseph Boucher; brothers, Lawrence Bezeau and Albert Bezeau; sisters, Mabel MacDonald and Marie Basque; and daughter-in-law, Rose Marie Boucher. Lena worked for St. Joseph’s Hospital in the Dietary Department for 19 years. She was a member of St. Joachim’s Church, CWL for over 50 years and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary; she volunteered for Romero House Soup Kitchen and was a member with the Liberal Party. She is survived by her sons, Joseph (Rose-Marie), of BC, David (Krista), of Saint John and Norman, of Fredericton; daughter, Mary Mallett (Ron), of Saint John; grandchildren, Stephen, Russell, Judy, Lori-Lynn, Kathy Ann, Sheryl, Jeffrey, Jill, Sheldon, Robert, Karen and Brian; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sisters, Edith Moore (John) and Marion Bernier, both of Saint John; several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Monday, August 15 from 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday, August 16 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Joachim’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
