STELLARTON - John Thomas "Tommy" Field, 78, of Stellarton, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2009, in Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow.
Born in Stellarton, he was a son of the late Ernest and Jane (Manion) Field.
Tommy served in the Canadian Army in the 1950's. After the military, he worked as a fisherman until his retirement.
He is survived by a sister, Jessie Wood, Westville; brother, Albert, Watervale; special niece, Phyllis Stewart, Westville and several other nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sisters: Joan MacPherson, Nora, June Mason, Clarice Stewart; and brothers: Ronald, George and Ernest "Skippy".
Visitations will be held Saturday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home Westville. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville, with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in Lourdes Cemetery.
